The Stylings of JuJu | Erie PA Fashion and Portrait Photography

What an incredibly fun day!!  This morning I shot a styled fashion shoot for Leslie McAllister, stylist extraordinaire and owner of the retro vintage shop “JuJu.”

Recently Leslie expanded her shop to Etsy and wanted to do a shoot to showcase some of her favorite pieces on her Etsy store and also on her JuJu website.  And wow. Her selection is vast and awesome!! You definitely need to go check it out! We started off with each of the models changing into about 10 different outfits and shooting details of the clothes etc. THEN we moved into the fun stuff with a set which Leslie designed (the girl can really do it all!)  I shot over 2000 images including all of the detail shots for the Etsy store, but my favorites are definitely the styled shoot.

This is the second time I’ve had the opportunity to work with Leslie, as last year she put together and styled an entire fashion show for the Kanzius Research Foundation which I photographed.  It was totally like a reunion shoot, because not only were Leslie and I working together again, but the models were the same girls who walked the catwalk at the benefit show as well!

Aren’t these girls gorgeous!? The styling was totally eclectic and retro, but these girls ROCKED it! Thanks again to the models for 1. turning it on for the camera and 2. making the day SO MUCH FUN!  (L-R) Kelly Chaney, Lena Logvina, Marni McAllister, Sue Martin and Emily White.  You girls are all awesome!

And it wouldn’t be a proper tea party without baked goods, where I OF COURSE turned to the drool-worthy-orgasm-in-the-mouth sweet treats of 814 Cupcakes!! the owner of 814 turned out some colorful and fun cupcakes especially for this shoot!

Thanks again everyone for making today so much fun, and I’ll be seeing you girls again soon for the viewing party!

The Sorce of Music | Erie PA Portrait Photographer

VERY early this morning (well, at least very early for me) I met up with Greg Sorce to shoot some pictures for his upcoming album that he is releasing. I met Greg through a couple of corporate gigs I did for HBKS Wealth Management (he is the “S”) and until he contacted me to do his portraits, I never knew that he was also an extremely talented singer and musician! We got LOTS of great shots, but I just wanted to quickly share a few teasers.

We started off at one of my favorite locations in Girard at a train ship yard.  Usually I don’t use filters of any kind, but I was playing around and I felt like it just “worked” with this first picture.

We then headed into Erie to Greg’s friend Tom Ferraro (amazingly awesome painter)’s studio, where I got MAJOR studio envy.  Tom’s space was my DREAM studio, except without so much paint and a lot more cameras. HA!

The next two images I think are my favorite from the day…

Greg was awesome and super easy to work with. I joked with him that he had modeling experience because after every couple of shots I didn’t even have to tell him to change poses, he just did it automatically and was very natural.

I heard a few tracks today, but I’m looking forward to hearing the completed album and I’m looking forward to working with Mr. Sorce again!

Now time for a nap….

Tarra and Ron in the City | Pittsburgh, PA Engagement Photograper

Sunday I took a little road trip down to Pittsburgh to photograph an engagement session for my couple Tarra and Ron.  We headed downtown and just strolled around the city for awhile stopping to take pictures along the way. I had a blast with this couple (and obviously as you can see Tarra is stunning!) and am looking SO forward to their wedding in September!!!

Cake Effect in Effect – 814 Cupcakes Y’all | Erie PA Food and Product Photography

As most of you know from a previous post, one of my clients and best friends is an extraordinary baker and cupcake maker (I’m in a rhyming mood…)

Photographing Meghann Legler and Bethany Kalie of “Cake Effect“‘s delicious products is always one of my favorite things to do.  Not only because they are beautiful and fun subjects, but because I get to also eat them when I’m finished photographing.  NOM NOM NOM!!!!

These ladies take orders small and large (from just for dessert to large weddings and events) and as a bit of a cupcake aficionado, I would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone with a sweet tooth.  Seriously.  Every time I taste a new flavor it becomes my favorite.

Get ready for your mouth to water!!

Once again… Thank you for feeding me pure deliciousness tonight girls!  Can’t wait for the next batch!

Little Lucie | Erie PA Family Photography

I have been a little off the grid for the last month after breaking my hand, but I got my cast off yesterday and I immediately scheduled a shoot for this morning (that is my idea of “taking it easy” HA!). I have been going through some MAJOR photo withdrawal,  so I really really needed to jump right back into things.

This morning I had the privilege of meeting and photographing little Lucie and her mom Alyse.  What. A. Doll!! Although it was a little chillier than expected, Lucie was a champ and really hung in there.  She had the most beautiful big blue eyes!

SO glad my first shoot back was with such a cute little family!

Taking a Break to Play in the Dirt | Erie PA Photographer

It is hard to sit inside and edit on such a beautiful day, but it IS part of the job and I couldn’t procrastinate because I’m going to Cleveland tomorrow with a couple of friends to see an awesome show (WOOT!!!) So it is totally worth it.

Grr and I took a break this evening though to go play outside, and as you can see… she LOVES the dirt.  She loves to lay in it, she loves to dig in it, she loves to eat it.  To make a long story short, she thinks dirt is the bee’s knees.  I was thinking that since the weather is so nice that I should give her a bath… but I think that may be a pointless task…

She definitely keeps me on my toes and entertained!!!
